I attended the first day of “”Healing the Wounds of Turtle Island” on July 14, Bastille Day. For three days, the Wabanaki Confederation held a healing “Ceremony” Not to be confused with a pow wow or festival, a healing is a solemn gathering of people and spirits to set straight the balance so missing today from our world. According to Wabanaki tradition, great wrongs came to this land. That wrong came through the Eastern gate. According to the same tradition, the healing will begin in the East. The purpose of these ceremonies of prayer and meditation are beginning with the first of sixteen such ceremonies to be held for the next fourteen years. No one was allowed to film these ceremonies. I was allowed to show the surrounding area and conduct interviews. I hope this will encourage you to participate in any indigenous healing ceremony that you might be able to attend in the future.
Maine Social Justice – Heart Body and Soul – plus – Navy Sonar and Whales
Dozens of alternative healers and mediums tabled at the Fairfield Community Center in Fairfield on Saturday, May 6th to show a more spiritual way to approach health and wellness. Local radio personality and author, Annie Stillwater Gray, spoke about three of her books and told us how to reach our own spirit guides. Julie Goulette of Albion, a spirit-guided healer spoke about how she received her and her daughter’s gifts. She had photos to show of spirits she had contacted. A quick pan of the Center showed the dozens of participants in this annual festival.
Maine Social Justice:Down to Earth Climate Justice Stories
This is about people, primarily women, who have taken an active role in protecting the environment of planet Earth. They tell the stories of why they take such actions, even going to jail. Anne D. Burt (Andy Burt) sent me a DVD of these women telling their stories. I have often asked people to send me their stories about justice and I thank Andy for sharing her fine work. Hopefully we can see what others have done and be inspired to find ways to promote justice throughout our beautiful planet. If you have a story about justice for all, I welcome your sending it to me.

Maine Social Justice – Maines Largest Solar Farm
Since early last spring I have been recording progress at the Madison Electric Works Community Solar Farm. At 4.8 megawatts, it is the largest solar farm in Maine....for now. The farm's builder and current owner, IGS Solar of Dublin, Ohio believes that within a few decades, over half of our country’s electricity will come from solar. A short clip will show you IGS’s mission and beliefs. You will also hear from the project manager for APS (Advance Solar Products) of New Jersey and from Calvin Ames, director of Madison Electric. MEW negotiated a win-win deal with IGS and quite soon, Madison Electric customers will be getting favorable electric rates. Madison already has the largest year-round tomato farm in New England. Madison now leads the way in renewable energy. After watching this, you will have a much better idea about what it takes to develop a solar farm and the many benefits that farm can bring.
