World Affairs Council – Josh Paul Webinar – March 2024

For eleven years, Josh Paul oversaw arms transfers and military assistance to foreign countries on behalf of the U.S. government. He believed and continues to believe the U.S. is a positive force in the world and that in most cases the costs of U.S. military assistance are outweighed by the benefits. He will discuss his role, as well as his experiences working in the region.

A tremor went through the world of golf on June 6, 2023, when news broke that the PGA was going to merge with LIV Golf, a rival league backed by Saudi Arabia's Sovereign Wealth Fund and managed by Saudi Crown Prince Mohamad Bin Salman (often called MBS). While the parameters of the deal and the future of the merger are still shrouded in mystery, the move underscores Saudi Arabia's rising ambitions and determination to assert itself on the global stage.
