On November 17th, the Maine Prisoner Advocacy Coalition delivered a People's Indictment against the Maine Department of Corrections and Commissioner Magnusson. The indictment states that the Maine DOC treated Victor Valdez, an immigrant, with cruel and inhumane treatment which resulted in Victor's death. Maine Social Justice: Walk for Peace in Maine

On November third, a coalition of Veterans for Peace, Code Pink, U of M Farmington Students, Buddhist Monks and many others began a walk dedicated to bringing a message of Peace across Maine. The Veterans for Peace organized and sponsored the walk that started in Farmington and went through Skowhegan, Waterville, Bangor, Belfast, Rockland, Bath, Freeport and will end up in Portland on November 11th.

On March 13th,The Sixteenth Annual Gathering for Changing Maine was held at the Maine State Arboretum in Augusta. The Subject this year was 'Practicing Nonviolence in Our Daily Lives and in the World'. Over 50 activists from throughout Maine spent the whole Saturday at presentations and workshops involving nonviolence.
