Every gift builds something

Your gift keeps the mics open, the cameras rolling and the next generation learning how to tell the story of this city.

  • 01Hands-on media training for young people, with real gear, real mentors and a finished piece on the air.
  • 02Furniture, fixings and community love for Studio 509, our new home at 509 Forest Ave.
  • 03Keeping public access TV, City Council coverage and community shows free for everyone.

Every donor becomes a PMC member. Prefer to mail a check? Send it to Portland Media Center, 516 Congress Street, Portland, ME 04101. PMC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

A New Home

Studio 509

Studio 509 is where it all happens next. Youth crews learning to shoot, edit and put their own stories on the air. Workshops that hand neighbors a camera and the know-how to use it. Community partners, local shows and City Council, all broadcasting from a space built for exactly that.

Now, about the furniture. Right now we’re one folding chair away from a punk rock garage sale. Help us bring in a proper studio set of chairs and a table, plus a few seriously groovy rugs. Good on camera, even better in person.

Rescuing the Rule of Law

Maine attorneys and national legal voices break down what’s happening to our courts, our Constitution and the independence of the justice system, in plain language for the rest of us.

Made right here with Bill Harwood and Maine Lawyers for the Rule of Law. They didn’t think they could make a TV show. They did.
