In an effort to make our services as accessible and affordable as possible, Portland Media Center has resisted raising our rates over the years.  At the same time, costs have increased, especially for rent, utilities and many other items we have no control over.  We are fortunate that in the last two years, the City of Portland has increased our funding for the first time in almost 20 years.  While we seek to increase our funding in order to expand our services and increase the depth of our services, we still need evaluate fee increases to help us meet basic operational expenses.

For this reason, effective July 1, 2024, our rates for individual membership will increase from $30 per year to $50 per year.  Individual membership years start in the month you pay for your membership, so any memberships that were paid prior to July 1 will remain active members until your membership expires.  Any new or renewing memberships after July 1 will be $50 per year.  Membership is necessary to receive our services, including taking classes, using our equipment and booking facilities.

We are also increasing our room rental rates.  The studio rental rate will increase from $40/hr to $60/hr, and the conference room rental rate will increase from $25/hr to $40/hr.   We intentionally set these increases so that they are still more affordable than similar spaces in the area.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Tom Handel at tomh@portlandmedia.org.
