Pachios on the News:  Portland Mayor Mark Dion Discusses All the Issues

Portland’s Mayor Mark Dion was the March guest on Pachios, where he talked about how his background supports him today. From growing up in a two-bedroom apartment in a working-class family of five in Lewiston, to being an altar boy and holding many blue-collar jobs doing foundry work, smelting, baking, and landscaping, he went on to attend the University of Maine, studied law, and became a police officer, deputy chief, criminal defender, and Cumberland County sheriff. Dion also was involved in the Portland City Council, Maine State Senate and House of Representatives. With the exceptional experience of never having lost an election, both guest and host agreed that Dion is a moderate Democrat, who likes to call himself a “Happy Ronald Reagan” and firmly believes in common sense and admitting when he’s wrong.  Mark discussed being liked by  Democrats and Republicans alike and fighting for general assistance, the homeless, refugees, immigrants, and seniors here in Portland.
