A board member recently passed through and told me that ‘progress at Portland Media Center is palpable.’ Six months in the director’s chair, this is welcomed news to hear. There is change and energy flowing through the Media Center. This past month saw the launch of The New Youth Times, the show created, directed and produced by students of Portland Area High Schools.
{If you haven’t seen the first episode, please check it out here. The New Youth TImes }
Natalie will speak more about this in her story of the newsletter.
We also brought retired newsman Pat Callaghan back into a studio to be Harold’s guest on Pachios on the news.
An independent film screening showcased short films by local producers.
Maine Academy of Modern Music hosted their first in a series of TEENS OPEN STAGE on the second Friday, and they are staging the second on November 14.
We had a visit from students of Belfast Area High School come down to visit and have a crew of students from Baxter High brainstorming their short film.
That is just to mention a few of the highlights this month.
“Progress is palpable.”
Please be on the lookout for further communications regarding our annual membership meeting in December and our fundraising event on November 20.
I hope you’re having as much fun as we are at Portland Media Center.
Come in and join us anytime.
-Nate.
