Carefirst Blue Cross/Blue Shield, is the largest private health insurance company in the Washington Metro area. And it has been since the 1950s, when it was just Blue Cross. Unfortunately, even though it is TECHNICALLY still a non-profit, ostensibly dedicated to the general health welfare of our citizens, the behavior of it’s CEO ( who receives mega-bucks for leading a NOT-FOR-PROFIT organization , AND it’s Board of Directors belies this beneficent exterior. $268 Million in over-charges is due back to it’s customers, but in DC, Carefirst CLAIMS IT ALREADY GAVE THE MONEY BACK, IN SPITE OF ASSERTIONS BY THE DC HEALTH COMMISSIONER TO THE CONTRARY!! Boy, if you just only knew the unbelievable level of corruption going on in Washington DC, the Nation’s Capitol!
