On March 20th, Maine film maker, Regis Tremblay introduced and showed the rough cut of his up-coming documentary about the huge naval base being forced upon a farming and fishing village on Jeju Island, South Korea. The audience in the Belfast Free Library were very much surprised and dismayed at the treatment of South Koreans since 1945. ‘Jeju, In the Crosshairs of War’ will show how over 80,000 SOUTH Koreans were massacred by the South Korean police under the direction of the US Military. Regis spent over three weeks on Jeju Island documenting the shameful history and the shameful treatment sufferd by Jeju Islanders even today. This show will be followed by an interview of Regis Tremblay by Bruce Gagnon of Bath and producer of the Access cable TV show ‘This Issue’.
