Volunteer Opportunities

Dog Friendly me

Vicky Poole is looking for a person to co-produce a TV series with her. She is also looking for a crew for this show. It will be a studio based monthly program with short pre-recorded videos roll-ins. The show will highlight local businesses and other locations throughout the greater Portland area that are pet friendly. The co-producer will work with Vicky to line up places to be taped, tape the on-site interviews with her and help organize the studio shoot. This production may also need two camera operators, a studio director (who may be the co-producer), an additional field camera operator and some help with post production/editing. Turnstyle Thursday Returns

Seth Dussault is planning to continue production Turnstyle Thursday this fall. Turnstyle Thursday is an evening-long open mic that records on every Thursday evening and is aired on Saturday evening. Set up begins from 5-6PM, and taping starts at 7-7:30PM. The show runs as long as talent is signed up to perform, usually between and hour and a half to two and a half hours. At this point, Seth is looking for two camera operators and a director. Because this is a weekly show, Seth has a times gone without a crew or only partial crew, so volunteers can offer to work on this once a month, in shifts or on a week-to-week basis. The atmosphere for the production of this show is very laid back, so it is a good opportunity for anyone who has just learned to direct or operate a studio camera to get some experience without any pressure. Also, as a variety/performance based show, the director has great leeway to be creative. If you are interested or would like more information contact me, Tom Handel, at tomh@portlandmedia.org.
